For Parents

Waiting for your baby to be born

Being expectant parents is a special time. And when you’re on baby watch, you probably imagine your little one – what they will look like, who they will look like or how they will behave. You can see them in your mind’s eye – holding them on your shoulder, their first bath, sleeping in a cot….

You make sure that your pregnancy is going well. You see your health care provider for a series of prenatal visits and routine tests performed during pregnancy with an increasing frequency prior to delivery. Cardiotocography (CTG) is a common test done in the third trimester of pregnancy. It monitors the fetal heart rate and uterine contractions. It provides valuable information about your baby’s health for your doctor or midwife and you are given the opportunity to hear your baby’s heartbeat.

Have you already heard your baby’s heartbeat?

There are moments when recording of your baby’s heartbeat takes on particular significance….

Pregnabit System

How can you keep track of and is it worthwhile to monitor your baby’s heart rate between doctor’s appointments? Professionals regard it as one of the most important element of modern prophylaxis.

Pregnabit is a highly capable CTG system that can be used anywhere and at any time, especially in your home environment. The Pregnabit system consists of a mobile CTG device and Medical Telemonitoring Centre (MTC), where qualified medical staff constantly analyses incoming CTG records. Pregnabit is a device providing a full medical service, which mums can use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Pregnabit is available at doctor’s and midwives who, on the basis of pregnancy or prophylactic history, may decide to see their patients more frequently or use Pregnabit system.

How Pregnabit works

  • Using the Pregnabit system is really easy.
  • During a visit to the doctor or midwife, after a detailed instruction, a mom-to-be receives a Pregnabit device that she takes home.
  • Measurement with Pregnabit is carried out according to the doctor’s or midwife’s instructions, at a particular frequency, time and situation. Testing can be done anywhere and at any time – it is important to have mobile phone network coverage.
  • A single test with Pregnabit takes 30 minutes. CTG recording is transmitted remotely to the Medical Telemonitoring Centre (MTC), where medical experts analyse it on an ongoing basis.
  • Shortly after getting a test record, MTC provides notification to the mom-to-be.
  • If necessary, MTC medical staff phones the patients to give them useful advice on what to do, including calling an ambulance in emergency.
  • The doctor or midwife who has run the test have an access to the patient’s current and archival results.
  • The patient can always access the Pregnabit platform, where the entire history of the tests is recorded.

Wishing you plenty of wonderful moments waiting for your precious little one!

  • It is possible to carry out a CTG monitoring on your own , which provides you with a feeling of a better care and a sense of security. The test can be done almost anywhere – at home, on vacation, during the weekend.
  • Should any threat be recognised, a prompt action and decisive measures are taken, including calling an ambulance by the Medical Telemonitoring Centre.
  • The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • User-friendliness of a professional medical teleCTG, which is an intuitive and small device.
  • Ability to access current and historical records, both by the patient and the doctor or midwife.
  • Reducing the need to do CTG in medical centres resulting in reducing travelling and queuing times. The Pregnabit system provides unlimited availability of the professional equipment.
  • Convenience, comfort, intimacy and the opportunity to participate in the tests of our loved ones.

Parents about Pregnabit

„Not only I have checked the Pregnabit system in work-related terms, but also as one of those 20% of women who were supposed to be admitted to a maternity hospital well before the due time, almost exclusively for regular CTG. As I have already had two children at home and a possibility to work remotely, the option of home monitoring almost winged me up. And supervision, or care? This is the real 21st century. Pregnabit is not a gadget, a toy, or a curio. It means women under professional supervision!”

Eliza Dolecka, editor-in-chief of zdrowie.gazeta.pl

„I’ve been using the teleCTG for more than 3 months now and I can say that, knowing what defect Tosia has, it would sometimes be difficult for me to stay calm without my daily monitoring. Especially when I feel worse.”

Beata, Tosia’s mom

„I believe that for every woman in the third trimester of pregnancy, such self-control is important because it gives a sense of security. And it is well known that a mom-to-be does not care for anything and anybody as much as for a baby in her belly. Pregnabit improves a feeling of self-control and security:) There is no diagnosis of threaten miscarriage, my pregnancy is treated like any other. The use of Pregnabit, however, gives me a possibility of self-control, listening to my baby son’s heartbeat and establishing an earlier relationship with him. This is priceless:).”

Agata

„Pregnabit is a very interesting idea and a practical device. It is very intuitive, and the test itself is easy. This is a good solution for a midwife.”

Joanna, 39th week of pregnancy

„Pregnabit is an interesting solution for pregnant women. It is very intuitive, comfortable and lightweight. It calms you down and assures you that everything is normal.”

Experts on Pregnabit

“The doctor is unable to provide continuous health care and responsiveness towards the needs of their patients. The combination of teleCTG Pregnabit technology and a 24-hour medical centre is a very good solution. Early detection of any hazard, including by means of teleCTG, can make a real contribution to. This solution will also be useful if frequent CTG tests are recommended.”

Prof. Romuald Dębski, MD, PhD

“Digitalisation in healthcare as well as patient medical data is currently a worldwide trend and concerns a lot of fields of medicine, becoming a standard. TeleCTG Pregnabit, in a small and lightweight suitcase, means hope for increasing the safety of pregnant women. Its role in monitoring the course of pregnancy, evaluating its condition 24 hours a day, is now becoming a reality.”

Tadeusz Oleszczuk, MD

“Telemedicine, which uses advanced technological and IT tools, is a growing healthcare sector. It should be emphasized that this development allows us not only to improve the quality of healthcare, but also its personalisation, i.e. tailoring it to the patient’s needs. As a professor of technical sciences, as well as a graduate of medical studies, I cooperate with a team in telecardiotocographic testing of an innovative telemedicine solution for safely monitoring a baby’s heart rate and uterine contraction, Pregnabit. I personally believe the CTG deserves a very positive evaluation, both in terms of innovation, functionality, speed and impact on patients’ quality of life.”

Prof. Halina Podbielska, MS, MSc, PhD in Physics

“As part of the perinatal hospice, we run a group of patients who expect their baby sick or dying. In such cases, it is essential to closely monitor and assess fetal well-being during pregnancy in order to choose an optimal time for the delivery. Until now, we were able to offer our moms-to-be either very frequent visits to the hospital or a stay in the ward. Since it is possible to use teleCTG, care about such patients is much easier. A mom-to-be is at home, under constant professional supervision, and we as a team of specialists have an on-going overview of how the baby is developing. In such difficult situations, Pregnabit helps both parents and the team to provide optimal care.”
